We had our NC wedding shower at New Sandy Hill Church in Bailey on Saturday. We really had a great time and enjoyed seeing everyone. There were so many gifts and cards – SWSRN and I both thank all of you for coming by to wish us well.
The picture you see is of a pig-shaped cake that my aunt & uncle (Hi Joe and Dora!) sent to the shower. The cake was a hit, but I was a little disturbed by the fact that it was red velvet cake underneath all that pink icing. (My female friends say something like this happened in the movie “Steel Magnolias” – I haven’t seen it though).
We’re busy getting the “thank-you” cards ready this week – definitely an enjoyable activity – we have so many friends and family to thank for everything.

OK, I admit it. I must work with some pretty smart people.
I set up the wedding section of the site (http://alvinphillips.com/wedding) to provide easy access for our family to get details about the wedding. The articles I post here don’t show up on the front page of the website, but I overlooked the fact that they appeared in the tiny list of “Writings” on the right panel.

While many of you already know about our upcoming wedding, I wanted to take this opportunity to not only announce the event, but answer any questions you might have.
SWSRN and I will be married on January 15, 2005 on the north shore of Oahu, Hawaii. This will be a combined wedding/honeymoon vacation.
We will have two wedding showers, the first will be on Saturday, November 6, 2004 at New Sandy Hill OFWB Church. The church is located on NC HWY 581, 2 miles south of Bailey, NC. The second shower will be held in Topeka KS over the Thanksgiving holiday, details to follow.
