I’ve known for a long time that I should have an “about” page on my website, but I always put it off until “later”. After attending the Triangle Blogger’s Conference I knew that I could put it off no longer.
About Me…
Hi, my name is Alvin Phillips and I live in Wilson, NC with my wife, SWSRN. I graduated from Wilson Christian Academy and then recieved a B.A. in History and a NC secondary social studies teaching certification from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington.
I have worked as the Director of Information Services for a franchisee of Interim HealthCare for over 10 years.
I have been active in local politics, most notably as a Republican candidate for the North Carolina House of Representatives in 1998. I have also served in several organizations (NC Young Republicans – County Chairman, Regional Director and Communications Director), (Wilson County Republican Party – Chairman and Treasurer) and the Wilson County Taxpayers Association.
Upon entering college in 1990, I was an early convert to the idea of open source software – including the GPL license, Linux and the idea of a Creative Commons.
